More Weather Alerts here

We aren't getting anything the likes of northern Tennessee, but we have a good round of flooding over creeks and drainage flows again.

It's been hit and run nasty storms all morning -- turns dark as pitch, wind kicks up and it downpours. Might last 10 mins, might last 30 mins. Then it's dang near pleasant out -- sunshine, breaks in the thick cloud cover and a beautiful shot at bright, happy blue.

Then poof...the next batch of black and nasty drops over the mountain and we begin again. Couldn't see the end of the driveway a while ago it was pouring that hard.

Everything is unplugged here, so it's a slow, quiet day. Not even background music...unless you count Emily's constant humming of various Hee Haw tunes. We received the first in a series of episodes of Hee Haw from Netflix...remember that show? Minnie Pearl, Grandpa Jones and the Pffft! You was Gone song? C'mon now...I'm not the only one who remembers those golden days of family TV am I? Happy Days? Laverne & Shirley?

Anyway, down the bunny hole I go. As usual. I'm just saying it was quiet. We don't have much around here in terms of digital fun, but when the lightening is flying all around, computers get unplugged (landline phone too...but we don't have one now), TV gets pulled, DVD player, even the washing machine now that I have one with all those idiot bells and whistle digital displays. I've had too many things zapped over the years by the stray over-zealous lightening strike. We just unplug and move to something else.

Today, it was reading then naps.

Looks like that will be the plan of the day given our forecast.

Glad we don't have those types of storms right now...although we have in the past.

Stay safe and hopefully no more nasty weather heads your way.

And yep, I remember Hee Haw, and all of them! Love it! HEHE

When nasty weather comes here we follow a routine similar to yours. Once my uncle dropped in to ride out the storm and he laughed. My little ones were never scared and I used to batten down and light candles etc and declare it old fashioned time. he found the golden light etc ridiculous but it worked well for us.

Stay safe and secure. Better to to take care than lose something heedlessly.

Jeremiah 6:16
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
