Dishcloths on The Homestead update

There's the pile as of today...22 dishcloths. They aren't all similar in size -- I swapped from the H hook I prefer to the G the patterns call for, but still they are all pretty.

I have found several pattern designs I like...the front post/back post stitch works up the Hobby Lobby brand cotton (I Love This Cotton brand) really soft and thick. I picked up a skein of Baby Bee 50 cotton/50 acrylic and really like it...so soft, so thick! It's a great yarn, but the normal price is $4.99 for 3 oz. A bit too pricey for a dischloth at a farm stand I think.

For the most part, my cottons are Peaches & Cream, Lily's Sugar & Cream, and the I Love This Cotton. I do prefer the softer texture my crocheting gets with the H hook, so I think I'll stick with that.

What do you think about pricing? If you've followed me long at all, you know I'm absolutely terrible at pricing things. The yarn averages $1.50 and with 2 skeins, I can get 3 decent sized dishcloths, so about $1 each. If I bundle as 3 to a 'pack' would you pay $4? Seems pricey to me but then I can make them, so I probably wouldn't buy them. And I'd pay more than that for knitted ones...just because I like them, and because I just can't knit without losing what little sanity I have managed to retain into my 40's here.

I will keep stitching away :o). I have a tub here to fill with them, and I'd like to do some scrappy quilted pot holders as well as one of the heirloom thread layettes I do. Maybe a whole set (sweater, bonnet and booties) as well as just booties.
I saw a cute baby sweater dishcloth online somewhere that was cute too...if I can find it again!
I thought grouping a couple together with a theme might help them sell...like color grouping, and maybe some super soft baby cloths with a pair of booties...that sort of thing.

So, hit me with your pricing ideas for the farm market. Think perhaps:
a grouping of 2 or 3 cloths,
the booties and 2 baby cloths,
or even a half dozen cookies with a quick quilted scrappy pair of pot holders.

I think 2 for $3 sounds good or 3 for $4. You've done a beautiful job and grouping them with goodies is even better. Man...in the time it took you to work those 20 crocheted ones... I made 1 knitted. lol.

Good job!

I just started making my own Washclothes and I really do love them but my Kids are having a hard time getting use to them. Your doing a great job and I would pay that price if I didn`t make my own. I have picture of them on my blog as well.I just came across your blog and I am enjoying it.

Those are great. 3for4 is great and if you can find a deal on handmade soap or know someone who does handmade soap - ask for left overs/samples etc.. and package a free sample with them and you could even bump it up to $5.00.
