Stupidity in the News...

Ok, I don't watch the news. We don't have television stations here at all. Not even fuzzy wanna-be stations.

And normally I jump right through the Yahoo blurbs that pop in ahead of my mailbox.

But this is just ridiculous. Yes, I talk on my cell phone while driving. Honestly, I don't think anyone down here in our area drives without a cell attached to their ear. It's like some unwritten law or something. I don't think they know how to drive without that arm angle thing.

But here's a man with a million-dollar sports car....million dollars...and he got distracted by a low-flying pelican, dropped his cell phone and bingo...there sits his million dollar sports car in a salt-water marshland. Salt water. Million dollar car.

Yeah, that's gotta be good for the motor...

And surprise, surprise...they are saying that the estimates of H1N1 flu deaths is probably closer to double, even triple what has been reported since April this year. We're too busy worrying about how to react over what we're actually looking at from a health perspective. Maybe being stupid and changing the rules mid-stream with the flu count wasn't so bright after all.

Yes, we're still back-sliding Christians in the eyes of many. We are not going to church proper we are home-churching and listening to audio sermons; we have 1 day in town for duties (yes, I have been in town more the past week or so now...the children for the most part have not been, but that's neither here nor there). We are not doing things out in public without good reason right now. There's just too much going on and honestly, I'm not tending my home and we aren't homeschooling much either.

And none of that makes a difference in the grand scheme of things, does it? Goofy news is goofy news :o)

Um, I don't even have a mobile phone (cell phone), but we certainly do get strange looks when we say that we don't have one - I don't know why, for we don't have eight arms or two heads! :P
