BRRRR! Someone let in the frost...

There was certainly frost on the pumpkins last night. And on the porch. And the barn. And the roof. Rather felt like it in here for a while, too!

We hit 34 last night. It's early for that here, but short-lived. We'll be back to the mid-50's again by tomorrow night.

The fires in the cookstove the past several mornings have been good. Had children practically on top of me while cooking...almost makes me wish we'd gone total hillbilly and just put it in the middle of the 'gathering room' here!

Last night, however, it was time for the big woodstove to get a turn. There's no banking a fire in the cookstove, no sustained warming effect whatsoever. But the big stove gets it done much better.

We'll let it simmer off today, as it won't be so bad in here as it warms more outside.

Today's Agenda:
Clean goat pen and 'fluff' the bedding
Clean chicken coop, add new nesting hay
Dog pens need cleaning up

Schooling this morning while it's cold out
Sewing...things are moving along
Bread baking -- will take a couple loaves aside for 'pluckets' (rise dough as usual, then roll walnut-sized balls out, dip in melted butter and roll in cinnamon-sugar mix, place loosely in greased bundt pan, rise again and bake...can frost as well, if they last long enough!)

I need to think about dinner. I'm thinking scalloped potato casserole with some sausage added. I did a huge pot of baked beans -- cooked all day Saturday and all night, too. We nibbled about half yesterday as everyone helped themselves here and there all day. Oh they were delicious!

Guess that's about it from here today. Time to throw another log on the fire...I feel some cool breezes in here!!

Hope you have a good Monday!

I am meeting a sister in Christ from the VSKHS Yahoo group we are on together today. Her name is Courtney, you may have seen her post from time to time.
We are having lunch at Panera Bread, then shopping at Costco.

Still gotta mail me a picture of the veil and kapp dear one. =)
Sis Tabaitha made me 2 veils and guess what? They are too small for my fat head! Ugh! =/

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
