Cell Phones vs The Bible
Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones?
What if we carried it around in our pockets and purses?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back around to go home and get it when we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages?
What if we treated it as though we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to others, to our children, as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
I'm sure you can come up with many more questions about the use of our cell phones...and our computers, televisions, our iPods, shopping and work even, or whatever else occupies a great deal of our daily time. They all represent the world system and it's allurements. perhaps it's time for all of us to 'get out of Egypt' and see all the power God is revealing to us. Our weather, the illnesses that plague our world, the financial markets, the world order. How much leaven do you still have hidden in your heart?

Isn't that so true. The cell phone and many other things in modern life have taken over as God and the Bible in our lives. You motivated me to be more aware of these things.
beautiful post!
I don't carry a cell phone but this would pertain to the computer and etc. in my life. So true.
What an excellent point. I've never thought about that before. Maybe you should challenge your readers!
I have seen this before a year or so ago, but it is so true, esp. since people seem to worship their cell phones these days. Gone are the days when people use to have a conversation face to face...
This poem you posted also reminds of another one, maybe you have heard it. It's called 'The Bible and the TV Guide'? Very good as well. :-)
God Bless You. Have a safe and productive week!

Great post!! Something to think about!! I heard one time an analogy similar to yours...when someone leaves their house in the morning forgetting their cell phone they are lost for the whole day...but how many people are lost without studying God's Word before they leave home??
Thanks for a good read!!!!
Have a great day!
I have a friend who decided not to read any books except her Bible. She said it is plenty of entertainment and learning. I am trying to do that too.
I don't have a cell phone but I am guilty of occupying my time with other "allurements". This is a great post. It reminds me of one of my favorite gospel songs "Dust On the Bible." Thank you.
Enjoyed the post... so true.
