Article: Why the US Economy Will Not Survive

Believe what you want, I'm just sharing a good article.
If my thinking (and a whole lot of other folks, btw) is wrong, nothing is lost. You'll have stocked up things you already use and need, you'll have paid down debt instead of accumulating more because "that's how things are done" and you'll have cut some of UncleSam's puppet strings...er, apron strings.
But if some of us are right, well, you might just last the crash a bit longer.
See...win win.

:::Even though the U.S. financial system nearly experienced a total meltdown in late 2008, the truth is that most Americans simply have no idea what is happening to the U.S. economy.  Most people seem to think that the nasty little recession that we have just been through is almost over and that we will be experiencing another time of economic growth and prosperity very shortly.  But this time around that is not the case.  The reality is that we are being sucked into an economic black hole from which the U.S. economy will never fully recover.

The problem is debt.  Collectively, the U.S. government, the state governments, corporate America and American consumers have accumulated the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world. :::

Go check out the reasons they share and put some thought into what's going on!

Deanna, I had to go on a SurvivalBlog fast. It was feeding my depression. If we already know a thing, how much more can we know it? Yes, you are right about many people being clueless. But I think that many do know at a gut level, and they are about to panic. They are just trying to keep it together on the surface, YKWIM? . . . . . . All of us who get it need to do what we can to give them some solutions, some baby-steps, without driving ourselves over the edge in the process. If you don't mind, would you please pass along the Better Times Almanac one more time?

I think it is just about right for the people who are willing to start. Us old dogs can always learn a new trick or two as well.

Y'all take it easy! Prayin' for Dewey and all of you. ~Liz

Jeremiah 6:16
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
