Both are similar in process...clean, peel and cut as desired.
Make a light syrup for the pineapple:
4 1/2 cups of water
2 1/2 cups of sugar
And a medium one for the pears.
(Or just a bit different than the pineapple...2-1/4 cups sugar5-1/4 cups water)
Shhh...don't call those Ball Blue Book folks, but in all honesty, I'll probably just make up a bunch of syrup and everyone will be cut up and packed as best I can to fill the canner. I'm not a great stickler to details with water bathing...not the prep phase, anyway.
I'll pack the jars with the fruit, then top with hot syrup, lid and seal. I plan to do quarts, so I have to check on times for water bathing yet.
Either way, there's the Tuesday plan :o)

We had a HUGE frost this year, so we don't have any fruit to preserve - maybe next year??? What a blessing to have so much fruit to preserve!
I am so looking forward to preserving fruit, as I haven't done it before.
Have a wonderful week,
Blessings,
Jillian ♥
Sounds like fun!!! I cannot wait to start canning & preserving.
I've never canned pineapple. Let us know how it turns out.
How wonderful that you were able to get pears in season now!
Pears, here in the mountains, are not super cheap, but I think I could buy quite a bit to can...We eat them right away though :)
Blessings to your day...I pray that you get a lot done,
Maria
