Shall we do the Virtual Cookie Exchange again?

I've done it twice now, and honestly, not too many seem interested...and only 2 ladies linked up with that McLinky gadget.

Do I have another go at it? I mean, I'm baking cookies anyway. I'm always looking for recipes to try. I'm a cookie recipe collector.

Ok...so I'm a collector of ALL recipes. I'm a cookbook junkie. Virtual cookbooks, printed cookbooks, recipe file groups, specialty recipe groups...it's an addiction.

I've looked for a 12 Step Program, a Reformer's Anonymous group.

There isn't one.

I take that to mean my addiction is ok...socially acceptable.

Probably because folks just plain LIKE food, and like to eat.

So, like I said, either way, we'll be baking a variety of cookies here. I do up little cookie trays for friends and the folks we deal with on a regular basis...like the mail driver, the 3 men who do our garbage route, our 3 bank ladies, the folks at the electric co-op and at the water co-op, Miss Linda in town...

We'll be baking whether anyone raises a hand and wants to join along and share a few recipe favorites. But it would be a lot more fun if ya'll wanted to be active participants this year.

I promise not to call you my Cookie Enabler if you join along :)

And to show my good faith, here's a starting recipe I'll share:

Oreo Cookie Truffles
1 package of Oreos (yes, generic will do, but shame...Oreos are classic you know!)
8 oz package of cream cheese, softened
White candy coating (chocolate ain't bad either!)
Red, green chocolate....whatever you like!...sprinkles and jimmies

Crush the Oreos. I run mine thru the food processor...you can bag them several at a time and wrap the bag in a towel and beat and roll with a rolling pin, too. Or give the blender a try :)
Mix the cookie crumbs into the cream cheese well, then form small balls...only a bite or 2 bite size.
Melt/prepare your coating and dip balls to coat. If you're having issues with keeping a nice shape, pop your cream cheese/cookie balls into the fridge for about half an hour.
Leave the coated balls to set up on wax paper lined trays OR if you want them decorated, sprinkle them with jimmies or colored sprinkles before they harden.

Yum.
What more is there to say?

I want to sign up for the job of Cookie Enabler! Sounds like a delicious deal. I too, collect recipes, cook books, cooking sites, etc...but I don't want to recover from this addiction (my husband would probably complain too!) I'll join you on the cookie swap...sounds like fun and low calorie too until you actually bake & consume!

I am a new reader of your blog. I'd love to do the virtual cookie exchange. I have the very same addiction as you!! I'm SO thankful I'm not the only one with this "problem".

I look forward to hearing more information on this. I'll even link up on my own blog.

Hello, my name is Sandy and I am addicted to cookbooks.

I would love to join along in the virtual cookie exchange. We make a lot of cookies at our house and while we have old favorites we are always looking for new favorites.
