About half an hour ago we woke Grandma and the children all hugged and greeted, then headed straight tothe downstairs room and the wild assortment of toys :o)
And breakfast -- equally as wild an assortment of sugar-laden, artifical fruit-flavored and colored boxed 'stuff', like Froot Loops, Capt. Crunch, and Trix. They still make Trix. I didn't have a clue. Sheltered life, I suppose. We don't even walk the cereal aisle at the store.
Can you envision today...wild-from-the-drive wild children, jacked up on sugat and fake fruit flavors, just enough sleep to make them all the more giddy at being at Grandma's house, playing with Happy Meal toys and enjoying northern life.
Ok...all that is true enough, but they are also a bit dejected at the lack of SNOW they wanted. Hey, it was rather nippy outside leaving the car a while ago. Might be all of 60 out there.
And then you have Dad and Mom...*not* jacked up on sugared bliss, bone-tired from a 12 hour drive (the fog was thick as stew just about the whole way here!) And not exactly ready to begin the day just because the sun came up.
Suppose my mother was right all these years...the world really does keep on rolling around, despite my personal issues of the day.
Aaahhhh, motherly wisdom...shhhh...don't tell her I recognize it!

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

I am glad you all made it there safely. Don't get too comfortable up North. We like you down here in the South now. Have a great time!!
Oh now don't worry about that. I miss a real autumn cold spell and a good serious winter and all, but we got in around 6 and it took all of maybe 2 hrs before I started the "they can take those scarves off in the house" routine. It's been progressing right along ever since.
Expected, yes, just thought maybe it would take longer.
It will make for a long 3 days.

Glad you arrived safely. Oh, how I hate driving in the fog! Liz
LOL...and your momma is right. Enjoy and make memories.
Blessings
