One More Week

One More Week...One More Week...

If I was one of those mantra-chanting sorts, that would be it. One more week until Dewey is back home full time again. That CT or MRI machine officially moves in Monday morning over at the hospital then it's the last of the gravy work (replacing lightbulbs and all that electrical spit-shining stuff) and load the final trailer for HOME.

This last week will be a breeze, I think. He's been home since last Friday this time, and isn't heading back until after church Sunday. That's a long time home :o). But, being here that long will make the last leg of the job just breeze by for him, I think.

Still no word on what's next, but we'll adjust, whatever it might be. Too many people stress about things like that. I do sometimes, but in the long run, I'm not looking to live like everyone else, so my needs aren't as cumbersome as most, and I can certainly simplify my 'wants' list a great deal.

We're looking at worst-case here...no job. I always plan worst-case so if it doesn't happen that things flow that direction, it's just that much more the blessing. I'm prepared for worst, and I am triple blessed with everything less.

No job -- well, first off, I don't believe (just yet in our society) there is any such thing as "I can't get a job". There are always jobs. Not always what you're used to doing, certainly not always what you feel 'trained' to do, but jobs aren't as scarce as they will be. Granted, looking for a job used to be a bit easier as the gene pool wasn't as glutted with so many wanting what bread crumbs you could find, but hey -- this is where life adjustment comes into play.

We have simple needs. I like comfort and luxuries (just TRY to turn off mt a/c and see what you get for your trouble) same as anyone else, but I'm not going to allow someone else to dictate what those might be. No job means we re-evaluate things here and adjust accordingly. That just means that some things now listed as 'needs' get shifted over to the 'wants' category and we adjust. My mom laughed at my saying we could, if worst came knocking down worst, still live with $300 a week. No one claimed I was totally ready for that lifestyle, but I'm not going hungry at that level. And it's only as 'permanent' as we allow it to be. Ideally, I'd like to see $400 a week coming in, but I can do less. LOL...the first year he bailed on landscaping/snow removal work and went non-Union electrical, we racked up a tiny little $6000 into Social Security. I don't remember what the gross yearly was, but let me tell you it was small.

One More Week...One More Week...let's see what The Lord has planned :o)

Hey, He's already got one more week planned . . . . . . . . . from before the Creation. But I cetainly know how you feel. Even when we know the truth that sets us free, we still stress, and He still let's us learn we don't need to. One more week, right!

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
