Debi...

Ok...mine is already stitched, but here's what you are looking at/for. A nice underarm edge.

Now life that top layer, front and back apart from the lining material so it looks like this...without the stitching already finished...
That straight edge is what you're sewing...all the way down. Then you'll roll it back down and it should look like that original first picture, all nicely finished and ready for the skirt to be attached.

Do you sew all your childrens clothing?

That fabric is really pretty.

Thank you, I got it.

I will post a picture in a few minutes of the dress and apron.

I just couldn't see what you were telling me over the phone.

Yes, we sew all our clothing. Dewey still gets store-bought jeans and heavy-duty work shirts, but everyone else is in homemade :o) The boys wear broadfalls and plain shirts (pants with no belts, just suspenders stitched on, and shirts with band-collars) and the girls wear simple dresses with aprons/pinafores over them and kapps or veils. We make the boxers and bloomers, and night clothes, too. I need a pattern for making ladies underthings...but I think Debi is getting one, so I'll draft a copy of hers :o)

We still buy socks and shoes...LOL...

I love the pictures of your little girls in their dresses.

They look just like the should...like a little girl!

I admire your dedication and hard work.
